Ã÷ÐDZ¬ÁÏ

Our potatoes team can provide technical advice and information covering all aspects of potato production.

As an independent research-based service, each member of our expert team has extensive experience at the cutting edge of the UK potato industry. We have a broad knowledge base, connected to wider support and resources from across Ã÷ÐDZ¬ÁÏ, there are few queries we cannot answer.

Unlike some advisory services, our team are active in applied research – from agronomy field trials to plant pathology diagnostics. Each year, we run a large field trials programme across Scotland, covering a broad range of subjects; late blight control at our dedicated site near Ayr; novel methods of PCN management in Angus; IPM strategies for aphid/virus in Aberdeenshire; and many more.

We have access to laboratory facilities and offer an expanding range of diagnostic tests. With a specialism in plant pathology, we regularly assist corporate members with novel product development. This hands-on approach to R&D means that when we explain technical data, we’ve often been involved in generating it.

Join SACAPP

The SAC Association of Potato Producers (SACAPP) has supported potato producers, agronomists, and trade providers operating in Scotland and beyond for over 25 years.

In addition to group meetings and on farm support, we also keep members informed with The Potato Bulletin - an in-depth industry publication containing the most up to date technical advice relevant to potato producers and  production. We also operate a series of regional agronomy groups, who meet locally to share experience, advice and information with expert technical guidance.
